Service scope

Door locks, readers, exit devices, controllers and backup power must be selected as a coordinated system. Agree user enrolment, access permissions and reporting, then test normal entry, exit and failure behaviour before handover.

  • Door and user assessment
  • Reader and lock compatibility
  • Access permissions and handover

Assessment before quotation

Share the building type, location, existing equipment and the problem or outcome required. Assessment helps define equipment, installation, testing and maintenance requirements before price and scheduling are agreed.

Equipment & system options

Biometric readers, cards or PINs; door controllers and compatible locks; attendance terminals and export/report requirements.

Maintenance & support

Review access permissions when staff change, test door release and backup behaviour, and agree how attendance records and enrolment access are managed.

Planning questions

Is attendance the same as door access?

No. A door permission controls entry; attendance records support time reporting. Agree enrolment, shifts and report formats separately. Payroll integration is not assumed.

THE TECHNICAL BRIEF

Door access and attendance are different jobs.

A biometric terminal can have several functions, but secure entry, attendance records and payroll are separate requirements.

Door access and attendance are different jobs.
Option / applicationWhat to assess
Door accessMatch reader, controller, lock, door contact, exit device and backup supply. Door construction and safe exit behaviour govern the hardware.
AttendanceConfirm shifts, enrolment, supported credential types, report formats and software licensing. A clock-in record is not a payroll integration.
Biometric or card / PINAssess the users, environment, privacy requirements and alternative access method rather than assuming one credential suits everyone.

Installation and handover

Survey doors and cable routes, agree access schedules and administrator ownership, then test authorised access, denied access, exit and power-loss behaviour. Emergency interfaces must be designed for the actual site.

Care of records and equipment

Agree who enrols/removes users and controls exports and retention. Maintenance includes lock alignment, battery checks, reader condition and verified backups of the supported configuration.

Will attendance data work with our payroll?

Only after checking the exact terminal/software, supported export/API, payroll format and licence. No payroll or ERP integration is included by assumption.

Equipment references & manufacturer documentation

These references help compare systems. They do not establish BM stock, dealership, partnership or model availability. Confirm equipment, compatibility and supply terms in the quotation.
